Families that have an infant under the age of 6 months in their household are also considered high risk.ĭoctors and nurses are available by phone 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. High-risk is defined as any patient under 2 years of age, as well as any patients that are immunocompromised or have an immunocompromised family member in the household, patients that have a chronic disease or illness such as asthma, diabetes, a heart condition, or a neurological condition. Our Island Pediatrics patients will be able to continue seeing their trusted Pediatricians and NPs at either our Tonawanda Pediatrics site on East Robinson Road or our Transit Meadow Pediatrics site on Transit Road. ![]() We have, therefore, decided to temporarily stop seeing patients at our Island Pediatrics location beginning February 20, 2023. Although we have consistently been working, and will continue to work, to recruit and retain new staff teammates, we find that we need to evolve in response to our current reality. We currently do not have enough members of our nursing and front office staff to see patients at our Island Pediatrics office.
